Thank you for your enquiry. I have searched the catalogues of archives and manuscripts of the National Library of Wales but I regret that I have been unable to trace a reference to the royal charter of Brecon, 1412.

The Library does hold the charter of Philip and Mary dated March 1555/6 (ref. NLW Rolls 276), and a copy of the charter of Humphrey, Earl of Stafford, to the burgesses of Brecon, 1443 (ref. Castle Gorfod A3). It is possible to order copies of these and for details of our reprographic service, please see the NLW website:

https://www.library.wales/services/reproduction-and-reuse/requesting-copies

I have also searched the websites of the National Register of Archives and of Archives Wales, without success. For general historical information about Brecon, you may find it useful to consult the following publication:

Samuel Lewis, A Topographical Dictionary of Wales (London 1842 and other editions).
