There are a number of collections relating to local history in Wales in the Library: Aberdâr Collection: Rev. Josiah Thomas Jones’ (1799-1873) collection that contains about 1,200 items printed in Aberdâr, or that are connected to the town in 1835-73. Anderson Collection: A collection of about 140 works by or about John Donne. Donne’s family had connections with Llanilltud Fawr, Glamorgan. Aberteifi Collection: A collection of about 5,000 items by Isaac Thomas’ servant, from the period 1836-65. ‘Castell Gorfod’ Collection: A collection of about 1,500 items relating to Breconshire and Carmarthenshire. Henry Owen Collection: A selection from the library of the antiquary Henry Owen (1844-1919), which contains early works on Pembrokeshire and by authors of the county. Morris Parry Collection: A Collection of about 240 items on Wales, in Welsh and in English, mainly printed in Chester in the 18th and 19th century. |
